…Giving Back

image024As a global leader in award-winning lifestyle programming, Enterprises producers are dedicated to making a difference in the communities where their employees live, work and play. Each day, Enterprises charitable giving and volunteer efforts help make a long-term impact on addressing the organization’s key areas of philanthropic focus: education, health, children and family. At Enterprises, giving is ingrained in the culture, a cornerstone of citizenship and as the employees will attest, one of the most rewarding — not to mention fun — aspects of their jobs. The Enterprises team does this not just through excellence in television production including ongoing segments on topics including “Touching Hearts and Changing Lives” and “Giving Back in America”, but with a variety of organization-wide initiatives. These initiatives are accomplished through the efforts of individuals and start in the local community.

image020-2A concerted effort to become more involved in the community began more than a decade ago with a partnership with the 4Kids of South Florida organization. Over the years, Enterprises staff has provided more than a quarter-million dollars in total contributions including a house for unwed mothers and their children. In recent years, management at Enterprises began sponsoring another collaboration with the staff and the community by providing one paid day of volunteering every 6 months for each full-time employee. This helped pave the path for many unique partnerships within the community including a partnership with Jumping for Kids. This partnership has strongly promoted healthy living within the community by establishing kids’ jumprope programs at elementary schools and community centers in South Florida. The programs were further enhanced by Enterprises providing jumpropes for children in the programs.

In the fall, the staff worked with organizations which support Veterans, sending personal items to soldiers who are recovering in military hospitals, and by filling Backpacks for School Children providing school supplies to public school children whose families cannot afford them. While people rely heavily on these programs, the staff at Enterprises thoroughly enjoys participation in these partnerships.

“Giving back to the community is part of our values at Enterprises,” Lisa Vrancken, Senior Vice President of Production said. “We want to be a good community partner and improve the health and quality of life for our viewers and the community we live in. Giving back to the community we’ve called home for the past 15 years is part of our core culture.” This past year, Enterprises Producers were awarded Key Partners Community Service Award from the South Florida Business Journal. “To us, every day is for giving back, but if being recognized with this award helps raise awareness on how organizations can make a difference, then we’re on board! We hope all businesses in South Florida understand just how important their support is to the community at large.”
